For the purposes of harmonization with Directive (EU) 2019/944 on common rules for the internal market in electricity, with the exception of paragraphs 1, 4, 5 and 6 of Article 57 thereof, partial harmonization with Articles 2, 15, 17, 21, 22 and 24 of Directive (EU) 2018/2001 on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources, partial harmonization with Articles 11, 14 and 15 of Directive 2012/27/EU on energy efficiency, effective implementation of Regulation (EU) No 1227/2011 on wholesale market integrity and transparency, more effective implementation of Regulation (EU) No 347/2013, on guidelines for trans-European energy infrastructure, more effective implementation of Regulation (EU) 2019/943 on the internal market for electricity, more effective implementation of part of Regulation (EU) 2017/1485 establishing a guideline on electricity transmission system operation, and the independence of the existing legal entity under public law known as the “Cyprus Transmission System Operator” by the Cyprus Electricity Authority, the Law on the Regulation of the Electricity Marketof 2021 was adopted, which repealed the Electricity Market Regulation Law of 2003 until 2018.
